Few Principles in Sports Training

The body has to be well-prepared before engaging in any physically-demanding exercise, such as sports. Muscle pain and other accidents happen because the body was not well stretched or warmed-up. Certain things must be remembered before engaging in any kind of sport.
First, individual differences accounts for a great deal in sports. Each person responds to exercise differently. Some can tolerate very physical sports well while others are more adept in less strenuous sports. Also, gender affects the tolerance and recovery time. Women tend to have longer recovery time than men.

Next, when training your body for a specific sport, it is a must to continuously increase the amount of workload it has to do. For example, when lifting weights, you don’t stay lifting 50 lbs all the time. To successfully train the muscles, the weight must continuously be increased from time to time, or when the body has adjusted to a certain weight.

Progression is another principle needed. It means that the amount of increase in the workload should not be given too slowly or too fast. It must be given in the right interval so that the muscles are completely developed and trained. This also highlights the concept of rest. Recovery is also needed by the body to function properly.

Lastly, the concept of adaptation is important. Repeating a certain exercise or skill is important so that muscles can get used to the degree of fatigue or exercise it has to endure. This is also the explanation why initially, beginners feel very sore after doing an exercise but as they do it repeatedly, they no longer feel pain.

These are principles that can help you enjoy a particular sport and keeping these things in mind is important to have a successful exercise routine.
